CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF MUKHA ROGA

Shalakya tantra is one of the eight branches of Ayurveda, which deals with the diseases of Urdhvajatru- Mukharoga, Netraroga, Nasaroga, Karnaroga and Shiroroga. The Mukha ie. oral cavity is the gateway of the Annavaha shrotas. Seven Ayatana, collectively called as Mukha.

Nidana means the causal factor of disease. It is the primary factor which is responsible for the pathogenesis as well as progression of disease. Acharya Sushruta mention Mukharoga (disease of oral cavity) in nidan sthan but he did not mention Nidana for Mukhroga.

In Swasthavritta, in the chapter of Dincharya there is given proper guidelines for the Mukha Swasthya Raksha, i.e. Dantadhavana, Jihwa nirlekhana, Gandusha, Kavala, Nasya, Dhumapama etc. So we can consider negligence of Mukha Dincharya also as a responsible factor for Mukha rog Nidana

Acharya Vaghbhatta, Yog Ratnakar and Bhav Prakasha mentioned Nidana for Mukharoga. According to them kapha dosha is key factor for Mukharoga.

RAKTA MOKSHANA IN NETRA ROGA - A LITERARY REVIEWS

The eyes are the windows of the soul. The Eye is an organ that connect us surrounding environment by direct connection. Eye is a direct source of knowledge. Due to faulty life style, Environmental change, smoking, tobacco, Excessive use of computer and mobile etc. causes vitiation of Dosha and produce different type of Netragata Roga. In Ayurveda the eyes is a seat of pitta dosha and most of Netra Roga occured due to vitiation of pitta dosha. In Ayurveda Acharya Sushruta has describe many surgical and parasurgical procedure for treating manny diseases. Rakta mokshan is one among the parasurgical procedure and it is also one of the basic Panchakarma procedure. In Sushrut Samhita he mansion that Rakta Mokshan is half treatment of diseases. So Rakta Mokshana is ideally selected for treating various disorders of Netra Roga. Rakta Mokshana are used According to different type of Dosha and Sthana Involvement in Netragata Roga. Ayurvedic management of Utkotha (Urticaria) – A Case Study

In ancient texts most of skin diseases are mentioned under the title of ‘Kustha Roga' but The Utkotha is one of the skin disease mentioned in Raktapradoshaja Vikara by Charakacharya & Kshudra Roga as per Vagbhata Acharya. As separately disease mentioned in Madhav Nidana. In Utkotha the Pitta & Kapha Doshas are vitiated and They further vitiates the Rasa & Rakta Dhatus. The signs & symptoms of Utkotha are Kandu, Rakta Varna Mandalottpati and Utsedha on the skin frequently happen. A 30-year-old female patient presented with following complaints itching all over body (more at night) & rashes with elevated margin in the last 3 years. She was clinically diagnosed as a case of Utkotha (Urticaria). The patient was treated on classical Ayurvedic management of Kshudra Kustha. After 15 days of follow up patient had significant relief in symptoms. & Complete relief in symptoms end of two months of treatment.

ABSTRACT

Currently the world is getting digitalized day by day after the incursion of information technology (IT). It became the source of information for many fields such as science, technology, research, education, and commerce, etc. including healthcare. The internet has become an increasingly anticipated medical information resource. While considering involvement of IT and Artificial intelligence and its applications in various filed of medical science, the oldest traditional system of medicine, Ayurveda seems to be upgraded with ongoing competition. The area of Ayurveda like academic, clinical, Pharma and research where we can use IT, so that the system will get benefited and the things will move more calculated and faster. Hence, evidence base documentation, data safety, easy accessibility, worldwide propagation and many more are possible by using IT. Many new things like software’s, websites, blogs, and applications are upcoming with knowledge. These all gadgets are well utilized by the different group of people for their different needs. Ayurveda, being a data rich science, this enormous data should needed to be stored and can be utilized for various purposes. Database is an asset to resolve such issues. Many databases were created related to Ayurveda, unfortunately very few of them contains core / conceptual Ayurveda information. So the present article is an attempt to make a critical review on the databases available in the field of Ayurveda.

A CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF APEENASA AND ITS AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT

Shalakya is an important branch of Ayurveda which deals with the treatment of diseases occurring in the organs situated above the neck such as eye, ear, nose and oral cavity. It is called as Shalakya Tantra. Apeenasa is one of the Nasagata roga and Urdhwajatrugata Vyadhi which is explained by Acharya Sushruta and Vagabhatta. Apeenasa is a Vatakapha Pradhana Vyadhi. Apeenasa is managed with Deepana , Pachana, Vamana, Virechana, Dhumapana, Nasya Karma or Shirovirechana.
